- Sophia Popov became the first female golfer from Germany to win Women's British Open 2020 title (rebranded as 2020 AIG Women’s Open) by 2 strokes at Royal Troon in Scotland
- She went to the final round by 3-shot lead and completed with 68 golf shots
- Jasmine Suwannapura from Thailand was the runner-up after shooting 67 shots
- Sophia Popov is ranked as the 304 in the world ranking
- Sophia has now become the first female golfer from Germany to win the LPGA Tour’s major title

2. Nabard launches credit guarantee programme for NBFC-MFIs
- NABARD has rolled out dedicated debt and credit guarantee product titled as ‘Structured Finance and Partial Guarantee Programme’ for NBFC-MFIs
- The programme will ensure the unhindered flow of credit in rural areas hit by COVID-19 by providing partial guarantee on pooled loans extended to small and mid-sized microfinance institutions (MFIs) covering 1 million households across 28 states
- For this, NABARD has tied-up with Vivriti Capital and Ujjivan Small Finance Bank.

3. Indian Air Force launches ‘MY IAF’ mobile application
- Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria, Chief of the Air Staff has rolled out a mobile application ‘MY IAF’ at Air HQs Vayu Bhawan
- It is developed in association with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC)
- This app will serve as a single digital platform interfacing the users with the details of selection procedure, training curriculum, pay and perks etc for both officers and airmen in the IAF
- It is available in Google Play store for android phones

4. India and AIIB signs agreement for Mumbai Urban Transport Project-III
- Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has signed $500 million loan agreement with Govt of India, Maharashtra Govt and Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation for Mumbai Urban Transport Project-III.
- The project will improve the network capacity, service quality and safety of the suburban railway system in Mumbai as Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) is the most populous metropolitan region in India

5. Motor Vehicle documents validity extended till December 31, 2020
- Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has extended the validity of Fitness, Permits, Licenses, Registration or other documents under Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989 till 31st December 2020.
- The documents whose extension of validity could not or not likely be granted due to lock-down and which had expired since 1st of Feb, 2020 or after may be treated to be valid till 31st of December 2020.
- Earlier, extension was till 30th Sept 2020.

- Baldeep Ningthoujam (9th standard student) has developed a mobile game titled ‘Coroboi’ amid COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown.
- The game has become popular and most searched android-based game worldwide and more than 20 thousand users had downloaded the game.
- The Coroboi game can be downloaded from google play store
- Its theme is Coronavirus and Lockdown

7. Ahmedabad Railways introduces Baggage Sanitization and Wrapping machine
- Ahmedabad Railways (Gujarat) has successfully introduced a Baggage Sanitization and Wrapping machine at Ahmedabad Railway Station to ensure safe travel amid the pandemic.
- It is set-up under the Atmanirbhar Bharat concept ensuring 360 degree sanitization of the luggage by using ultraviolet radiation.
- It is fully indigenously and has been installed by a private enterprise in around 69-sq metre space
- It has voluntary charges depending upon size and weight of the luggage.

8. Finance Ministry announces Tax exemptions for Rs 40 lakh turnover business
- Ministry of Finance announced tax exemption for businesses with an annual turnover of up to Rs 40 lakh which was initially limited to Rs 20 lakh.
- Businesses with turnover of up to Rs 1.5 crore can opt for the Composition Scheme and pay only 1% tax.
- Tax relief has been extended to the construction sector, particularly the housing sector which has been placed at the 5% tax rate
- All GST processes are fully automated and till now 50 crore returns have been filed online.

9. India-Uzbekistan National Coordination Committee meeting held
- Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan has co-chaired 1st India-Uzbekistan National Coordination Committee meeting virtually with Uzbek Deputy PM for Investments and Foreign Economic Relations Sardor Umurzakov.
- The meeting was held on Line of Credit projects, bilateral trade and investment.
- The work of committees will further deepen India-Uzbekistan strategic relations.

- Ministry of External Affairs in collaboration with Foreign Ministry of Thailand has organized 6th Round Table of ASEAN-India Network of Think Tanks (AINTT) through video conferencing
- The theme of this two-day Round Table was 'ASEAN-India: Strengthening Partnership in the Post COVID Era'.
- It was jointly inaugurated by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand Don Pramudwinai.

12. New office premises for Delimitation Commission inaugurated
- New office premises for Delimitation Commission was inaugurated in New Delhi by Chairperson of the Commission, Justice Ranjana Desai
- New office is located on the 3rd Floor of Hotel Ashoka and has requisite spaces including a Conference Hall with video conferencing facilities.
- Delimitation Commission is appointed by President and works with Election Commission of India.
- It determine the number and boundaries of constituencies along with identifying reserved seats
